2nd Season in NPSL // Head Coach: George Moni

Grand Rapids Football Club started in March of 2014 as a crowd-funding project by two local residents and soccer enthusiasts Matt Roberts and Chris Deiss. The original goal of the club was to raise $20,000 by selling memberships to pay the costs to join the National Premier Soccer League. After six months, the club had 500 members and was off to a fantastic start. Unfortunately, the NPSL denied the club's application as the crowd-funded model was not what they wanted. Down but not out, GRFC teamed up four other clubs from around the Midwest and created the Great Lakes Premier League, a 5th tier league that is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association. After finishing second in the GLPL during the 2015 season, GRFC was asked to join the NPSL in September of 2015 and accepted. During the 2016 season GRFC won the NPSL Midwest Western Conference Championship and qualified for the 2017 US Open Cup.
